Going on 8 years in business tackling wall & ceiling lining packages in the construction industry including insulation & plaster scopes. Over the years this branched out into taking on retrofit insulation projects in residential properties around the Eastern suburbs, Yarra Ranges & Melbourne in general, via our plastering company.
Naturally the next step was to create an exclusive business dedicated to the supply & install of insulation, backed up by our long running plaster company.
Whether its a retrofit removal and install insulation job in your home, the supply & install of your nominated energy efficient batts to your commercial or residential build, an acoustic project, or a total plaster & insulation package, we have your walls & ceilings covered!
The R value on your insulation choice stands for Thermal Resistance, it is a measure of the materials ability to resit heat flow.
Choosing insulation with a higher R-value can lead to significant energy savings and improved comfort in a home.
R4 ceiling batts are your starting range for ceiling insulation. To give you an idea if you were to choose R5 ceiling batts over the lesser R4, the R5 batts provide a 25% increase in thermal resistance compared to R4 ceiling batts.
From R5 to R6 ceiling batts is a further 20% increase in thermal resistance, meaning R6 offers 20% more insulation then R5 and 45% more insulation than R4.
Gaps and Cracks in insulation allow air to move freely, these can lead to significant heat loss.
Even small gaps can lead to a noticeable reduction in thermal resistance.
A 5% gap in insulation coverage can reduce the overall R-value performance by 30%, and a 10% gap can cause a 50% reduction.
There is a need for gaps in certain scenarios, but they should only be where its required for safety purposes like around electrical fittings ie lights and power points.
